Media Training

Media Training is my definition of  ‘preparing for TV, print and web interviews’.  Since the majority of my clients are the journalists who work hard to provide us the news-  working with me assures that your preparation and new skills are specifically targeted to the current demands of the business as well as to the styles/formats of specific TV programs, publications and websites. Understanding the interview process, how to prepare, how to participate in the planning and how to ‘behave’ in the interview is the best guarantee of comfort and success.

Stevens Media Consulting prepares professionals for Television, Webcast, Radio and Print Interviews in the following areas:

  • Live In-Studio
  • Remote Interviews
  • Satellite Tours
  • Interviews for Sound bites or Quotes
  • Book Tours
  • Unscheduled Interviews

Media Training is requested by leaders in business, medicine, journalism, law, the music industry, authors… essentially by any professional or spotlighted person who is asked to participate in an interview. It is also suited to publications wishing to strengthen or reinforce their media presence through TV/radio interviews or TV programming

Description

Since the majority of Joanne's work consists of consulting to television journalists, Media Training is always sensitive to the current demands of the business as well as to the styles/formats of specific programs. Understanding the interview process, how to prepare, how to participate in the planning and how to ‘behave’ in the interview is the best guarantee of comfort and success.

Television Media Training is appropriate for first-timers as well as for seasoned participants. A person’s behavior and the information being shared often ‘flattens’ in the process of the interview. As a result, the likelihood of holding an audience.. of being asked back.. or of providing strong, memorable quotes is dim.  On the positive side: an interview blossoms when a person understands the criteria by which a successful TV segment is measured.
